Authentication & API keys

Send an organization API key as a bearer token on every request:

Authorization: Bearer hs_your_api_key

Creating a key​

Create keys from API Keys in the Inference console. Keys created there call the Inference API only — they carry the inference:invoke capability and cannot read your memory banks.

A key that works for both memory and inference is created from the Hindsight Cloud console. Either kind of key works against the Inference API; an inference-only key is the safer choice for an app that only needs inference.

Same account as Hindsight Cloud​

Your Inference organization is a Hindsight Cloud organization — the same login, the same members, and the same credit balance. Signing in to either console gives you the same account.

Errors​

StatusMeaning
401The Authorization header is missing, or the key is invalid, revoked or expired.
403The key is valid but has no inference access. Create a key from the Inference console's API Keys.
